Checkup & Cleaning, the smartest investment in your smile

Most major dental problems, from deep decay to gum disease, started small, and could have been caught at a simple routine checkup. At Avyla Clinics in Nasr City we offer comprehensive dental checkups and ultrasonic scaling and polishing sessions, because our philosophy is simple: prevention is always cheaper, easier, and less painful than treatment.

Book a checkup and cleaning if

  • It's been over six months since your last dental visit, or you can't remember it at all
  • You notice tartar or built-up staining, especially behind the lower front teeth
  • Your gums bleed when brushing, or you have persistent bad breath
  • You want peace of mind before a small issue becomes an expensive treatment
  • You're planning any cosmetic treatment, a checkup and cleaning is the right starting point

What happens at your visit

  1. 01

Full exam of teeth and gums

The dentist examines your teeth, gums, and bite, with X-rays when needed, catching early decay or inflammation before it escalates.

  2. 02

    Ultrasonic scaling

Tartar above and below the gumline is removed with gentle ultrasonic vibrations that break down deposits without touching your enamel.

  3. 03

    Polishing and finishing

Surfaces are polished to remove superficial stains and slow new tartar build-up, you leave with clean teeth and a feel you'll love.

  4. 04

    A clear prevention plan

We tell you honestly where your teeth stand, what you actually need, and don't need, and when to come next. No treatment upselling, ever.

What sets us apart

Tooth-coloured fillings, repairs nobody can see

Cavities happen even when we try our best. But the solution does not have to be a dark metal filling that makes you self-conscious when you laugh. We use a high-quality tooth-coloured composite resin, because restoring a tooth's health should restore its beauty too.

01

Invisible

We precisely match the shade of the composite to your natural tooth. Once placed and polished, even you will have a hard time spotting it.

02

They save more of your tooth

Composite bonds directly to the tooth, unlike old metal fillings, so we only remove the decayed part and preserve more of your healthy tooth structure.

03

Strong and safe

A modern material that is durable, long-lasting, and completely mercury-free.

Modern equipment, uncompromising sterilization

Checkups and cleanings at Avyla are performed with modern German ultrasonic scalers and low-dose digital X-rays by experienced dentists, with complete instrument sterilization between every single patient, because your safety is a line we never cross.

Frequently asked questions

Does scaling weaken teeth or widen gaps between them?

One of the most common myths, and the truth is the exact opposite. Tartar itself presses on gums and fills spaces; after removal you may 'notice' gaps that were always there, hidden under it. Scaling removes only tartar and never touches enamel, leaving tartar in place is what genuinely weakens teeth and gums.

How often do I need a cleaning?

The general recommendation is every six months alongside your routine checkup. Some cases, smokers, or those with gum inflammation, may need it every 3–4 months. We'll set the right interval based on how quickly your tartar builds, which varies from person to person.

Does cleaning whiten teeth?

Cleaning removes tartar and surface stains, restoring your teeth's natural shade and shine, many patients notice a real difference. It doesn't change the tooth's underlying color, though; that's what whitening does, an optional next step we can discuss after your cleaning.

Is a cleaning session painful?

In most cases, no, you'll feel vibrations and water spray, and the session takes about 30–45 minutes. If tartar is heavy or gums are inflamed and tender, a light local anesthetic can be used for your full comfort.

My gums bled a little after cleaning, is that normal?

Yes, normal and temporary, especially when gums were inflamed by built-up tartar. Minor bleeding settles within a day or two with the prescribed rinse, and you'll notice healthier, less bleeding-prone gums when brushing within weeks. Results vary from case to case.
